Join us for a hands-on water feature crafting experience, expanding the underground basin of our Library’s Fountain - ASPIRE Agrisculpture!  Guided by its creator, Amy Lewis Sweetman, you will learn how the visible and invisible design elements of fountains align.  By renovating and physically expanding the below-grade portion of Fountain ASPIRE Agrisculpture, installed almost 5 years ago at the Library, you will take part in the practical physical aspects of creating a pondless water feature.  This class is open to all adults of all abilities interested in creating and installing a fountai

Each member of the orchestral woodwind family will be represented in a family concert.  Peter and the Wolf  by Sergei Prokofiev, the well-loved Nutcracker Suite by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, and The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saens, and will be performed on flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon. The performance will be complete with costumes and narrator. This is a concert for all ages - adults and children 5 and up!

Ladies & gentlemen and children of ages, join our Ringmaster Karen Gersch and the Piccolo Circus for an afternoon of acrobatics, juggling, lasso spinning, clowns and more!  This is an outdoor performance, weather permitting.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket.  Outdoors, we can accommodate all who wish to attend.  In the case of inclement weather, the performance will be in the Community Room. Seating in the Community Room is limited to the first 80 people who are registered.

Singer/songwriter Caroline Doctorow discusses the folk music of the early '60s, presenting the work of important American songwriters and performers such as Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Pete Seeger and others. Performing her original compositions, she will explain the songwriting process and what it was like growing up the daughter of a world-renowned author - the late E.L. Doctorow.

Celebrate our 10th year in our new building with a walk through our beautiful grounds and adjoining Veterans' Memorial Park.  Sign up for a family fun walk - rain or shine! - beginning on the Library's River Birch patio and looping through Veterans' Memorial Park.  All are welcome!  We ask that children under age 12 be accompanied by an adult or older teen.  Refreshments served at the finish line.

Artist in Residence Event: Fun with Water Wheels for Teens

Join Artist in Residence Amy Lewis Sweetman for this Fountain laboratory class!  Water sheels were used to power mills and move ships in bygone eras.  Create a group waterwheel sculpture on our patio in this hands-on workshop with Agrisculpture Amy, using recycled bicycle wheels, dowels and cups!  The Artist in Residence program is made possible by a generous gift to the AWPL Foundation by Glenn P. and Susan D. THERE IS NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR THIS DROP-IN PROGRAM.  Discover some of the stories hidden in the landscape as you walk from the Library to Hallowed Ground Park (corner intersection of Forester Ave. & Galloway Rd.) with local history librarian Sue Gardner.  The group will meet at the Library's reading garden and walk to solve a puzzle as you gather clues along the way.
