New York State Talking Books

Albert Wisner Public Library facilitates access to the New York State Talking Book and Braille Library, a free service of the New York State Library, the New York State Education Department and the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped at the Library of Congress.  The Talking Book Library provides audio books on cassette, along with a special cassette player and other accessories as needed.  Books in Braille are also available.  Once eligibility for the service is verified and the patron is registered, he/she can specify reading interests and service preferences.

Applications for this service are available at the Help Desk.  Patrons should note that he/she and the Talking Book Library communicate and interact directly.  Talking Book and Braille materials are shipped straight to the patron’s home, not via Albert Wisner Public Library.
