Join us for a slide show that chronicles how art has shown us the roots of circus, how it has developed and how much it is revered. Circus performer & visual artist Karen E. Gersch presents this riveting evening of folklore, biographies & personal tales about the painters, sculptors, printers and other artists who have created masterpiece works about the circus. The slides cover the well-known Picasso, Calder, Matisse, Chagall and Toulouse-Lautrec works and introduce the brilliance of Daumier, Degas, Rodin, Avery and others. Included are selected slides of Gersch۪s own work. NYC Filmmaker David Cripton will debut his 7-minute documentary on Gersch۪s artistry. Afterwards, both Gersch and Cripton will answer questions & discuss the work shown and her work on exhibit.
