Village of Warwick Historian Jean Beattie May will present a visual exploration of the life and times of New York railroad magnate Thomas Powell Fowler and his Warwick summer estate, Belair. Through personal memories and photos, May will explore the mansion and its landscape (part of which is now the Lewis Woodlands) as well as the lifestyle of Fowler and his family. Descended from Thomas and Mary Powell, whose record-breaking steamboats of the same name traversed the Hudson in the mid-1800"s, Thomas Powell Fowler was a prominent figure in New York. His sons were close friends of F. Scott Fitzgerald, and are featured in some of Fitzgerald"s writings
