Is Early Really Better? The Push for Academic Learning in the Pre-School Environment

This two-hour educational workshop will address:
> Some of the developmental issues young children face> Does early academic instruction benefit young children and give them an edge?> How does academic instruction too soon affect a child's self-esteem?> What king of learning experiences are best?> How can research on early childhood development help us make the world more inviting and supportive for young children?
Beverly Braxton (Education Consultant) and Mary Krauze (Conscious Parenting, LLC) will begin the session by sharing important research findings. Participants will then work in small groups to discuss and identify possible strategies.
